Superhead - WTF

So, you probably don't know I Am Compton, the rapper but you may know Kyla Pratt from One on One. Recently she came forward with the information that she gave birth to a baby girl a year ago, why she felt the need to hide it when she's a grown ass woman, I don't know. The father of her child is this guy who is a rapper and not a stripper (as previously believed). Anyway, here's I Am Compton's new video for his debut song "Superhead". I should add that there's a dance a rediculous and totally disrespectful dance and that I personally think he waited entirely to long to jump on the Karrine Superhead bandwagon. That bitch is played like never before. I think this is modern day fuckery at it's finest. What do you think?

What Ever Happened to....Latif?

I used to jam to this song all summer one summer. I don't know why but I absolutely loved this song! I guess it was just something about his blatant honesty that had me hooked because honestly the crap he's saying in this song is some bs.

Check it: But the problem is, I'm not positive that I can give
the commitment that you're asking for.

Cause right now I'm young and though you're the one.
I can't guarantee that I can be the one you want.
You want someone who is faithful.
I'm not admitting I can't do it; just don't wanna put you through it.

If more people, both male and female could be this honest with themselves and others involved the world would be a much better place.

Anyway - I still listen to this. It's on my Zune and my i Pad. But after this jam I never heard from homie again. But it seems he's not quiet  a one hit wonder. peep his very impressive accomplishments here.

I Can't Date You If.......

So for various reasons which may be unsafe for me to publish here, I've recently come into contact with several guys who do things that I consider to be man law violations. I sat and had a conversation with the 'library kids' about Lil Wayne and his jeggins (SEE PIC) and the fact that they still respect him as a real nigga in the rap game. Now as an adult I can respect Wayne's hustle and flow for what it is but I can't take him seriously as a heterosexual male anymore. He's simply gotta be homo or bi. Anyway I decided to put all of these random thoughts on suspect male behavior into one blog post and I've decided to list 10 things that would make me want to go purse shopping with a guy instead of marry him.

I Can't Date You If

1. You know more about weaves, heels, makeup or acrylics than I do. I mean why should a guy know more than a little if any amount of info about these things? These are all things that I myself, as a woman, had no concern for until I started considering which ones I wanted to invest in. Any guy with an extensive knowledge on these subjects might be studying to become a wearer of these subjects.

2. You DVR Basketball Wives (Original and especially L.A.) Real Housewives, Bad Girls Club or any other show with a bunch of sluts who lunch together. Now I will not knock a guy who watches these shows because hey they are actually entertaining but I couldn't respect a dude if he felt like his life wasn't right if he didn't know why NeNe slapped Sheree or rather or not Royce accepted ol boy's ring. You don't have to stick to just Sports Center to prove your manliness but if you watch to much of these shows the character's behaviors will sneak themselves into your daily personality and eventually when I ask him why he left the toilet seat up again he may just reply with " Who gone check me boo?" coupled with a choreographed head and eye roll move.

3. You wear anything that may have once resided women's department of any store and everybody can tell except for you. Even if Cam'ron pulled it off you will probably end up more like Michael Scott. (NEWSFLASH: Cam'ron NEVER should have been able to pull this off and actually have people not only support but follow his 'Real Men Wear Pink' campaign). I don't care of that shade of purple Chucks perfectly match your Ralph Lauren Polo DO NOT PURCHASE! Even if you have small feet, just shop in the Big Boys shoe section! There are some instances and ways for men to wear pink and purple while still keeping their man hoods in tact but there are other things that should be avoided at all cost.

4. You are too into fashion. I mean everybody likes a guy who can dress nice but he shouldn't look like he plans his work week outfits on Sunday afternoon. The sexiest thing about a guy is his swag and let's face it people, Real Swag cannot be purchased. Real swag shoes in the way a brother carries himself.  I don't like guys who wear tight ass shirts, pants, shirts tucked in too tight, or who browse clothing sites wish a shopping. That's women shit.

This list could go on and on and on but I've been working on this draft for a week now. So here you have it. The short list. I'm sure in a couple of days I'll think of more bitchassness that I want to share with you guys. Until then, give me your thoughts.

Peace and Love.

::Food for Thought::
There is an epidemic in our state.  Families are suffering from hunger.  The homeless population is rising and we want to make a difference.  On 1st Friday of November, ViBE Events is leading the charge against hunger with the theme "Food for Thought."  Our goal is to raise over 500 non perishable items on November 4th.
Go without food today. Or limit yourself to just one meal. Or choose between food and your medications, food and your heating bill, food and rent, food and new shoes for your child.
For that one day, you'll live the life so many of your neighbors live every day. Right here in Arkansas.
The reality is that the number of hungry people in Arkansas is far higher than most other states. No part of our state is immune. And we can't change things for the better without your help.
The faces of hunger are all around us. It affects the young, the old, and every part of our state.
•18.8% of Arkansans live below the poverty line and can't afford enough food to eat. That means that 1 in 6 of your neighbors struggles with making ends meet and providing enough food for their family. - ACS Survey
•Arkansas is ranked 3rd in the nation for the most incidences of food insecurity. - USDA Survey
Hunger in Arkansas can end with YOU.  Make a difference.

Ghettoism at It's Lowest.....

So apparently somewhere in the world two adult women thought it would be okay to get onto what appears to be a school bus to fight an 11 year old girl. WHAT the FUCK!

Hottie Alert: Idris Elba SINGS?

Private Garden from Crystle Clear Roberson on Vimeo.

I can't even comment on the quality of the music. He could sing ANYTHING to me!

Lloyd's Dedication to My Ex

I LOVE this song, explicit album version and all. Listen to the lyrics people. This boy is singing from the heart! Lloyd is on his grown man ish! The only thing that bothers me is the talking cat. Andre 3000 where you at?

WTF: Black Cinema

So as some of you may or may not know I am the manager of a small library. In the last couple of years the system has started carrying 'entertainment' dvds for patrons to check out. Anyway, this morning I was minding my own business when my coworker, Roni, shows me Ghetto Stories: The Movie. I reply "No" because I don't usually participate in such fuckery. But for entertainment purposes I read the synopsis trying to give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

In the streets of Baton Rouge, there are only two sides of the track. In the midst of a street war of South vs. North, Marcus Hatch (Lil' Boosie) and Jai 'Savage' Carter (Webbie) find themselves as rival drug dealers struggling to make ends meet. With the streets at war, someone must suffer the consequences. This movie centers on the personal challenges, setbacks, and dilemmas of street life.

Keep an eye peeled for Nicole (Hoopz) Alexander, who plays Slimm's (Tyrin Turner better know as Cain from Menace II Society) love interest and medical student, rap stars Bun B and Paul Wall also appear in supporting roles, as well as cameos by Trill Entertainment's own Foxx, Lil' Phat, Lil' Trill, and Big Head.

Despite the stellar, star-studded cast - I don't think this is the type of movie I can watch without the aid of alcohol (perferably, a grande margarita from Las Palmas) and even then I'm sure it will fall under the unintended category of comedy.

My thoughts were confirmed when my other co-worker, Jeff summed the movie up with this powerful quote "It's not something you will beat yourself up over if you watch it just once, but if you watch it more than once you have a problem."

Last Thursday night, President Obama spoke to the nation about the economy but more specifically about jobs. It takes more than federal policies to make real lasting change.

It also takes leadership and thats why the STAND Foundation is sponsoring the Job and Career Summit Friday September 16th at the Metroplex Center in Little Rock starting at 9:00am. Please share this important information with as many people as you can.

New Spot in the Rock: Porter's Jazz Cafe

I haven't visited Porter's yet though I plan to but here's the wording from an email forwarded to me. If anyone has been or plans on going please add comment.

Porter’s Jazz Café is now open for business located at 315 Main Street, downtown Little Rock. They are open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu is well versed so you can go in and grab wings, a burger, chicken and waffles with a peach compote or a full course delectable meal such as my personal favorite, blackened tilapia, fried grits and asparagus: The perfect spot to get a break from the office and listen to jazz. If you are allowed, you can also wet your whistle by choosing a variety of drinks from their drink menu. To check out their menu, please visit www.portersjazzcafe.com.

Tonight there will be a jazz set from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring pianist Chris Parker and his wife Kelly Hurt on vocals and two other musicians from Hot Springs. They are absolutely amazing. The atmosphere will not disappoint. You will be in for a beautiful surprise. Please support , they are open seven days a week catering to a VERY mature audience.
Live entertainment on the weekends!

Once I visit I'll post my on review.

What I See: Lil Wayne: How to Love

Wow - Now I'm a Lil Wayne Fan to begin with. Not one of his hard core groupies but I recognize that the dude has talent. His word play is the coldest. But after watching this video I might have to upgrade my status to groupie. Am I exaggerating? Maybe you didn't see what I saw. In the beginning of the video there's a woman on what I presume to be an operating table about to get an abortion. She chooses not to and haves a daughter who grows up witnessing the mom being abused, her father is incarcerated, she is actually abused herself and becomes a little promiscuous which eventually leads to teenage pregnancy, stripping prostitution and the doctor who would have aborted her, telling her she is HIV positive. DAMN. Mid video Wayne switches it up and shows the father being there in the daughter's life and it's a completely different outcome. Now I'm not going to get all over the brothers although the message here is obvious. TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS! But to all of you having sex - please protect yourselves and if an unplanned pregnancy occurs and you choose life. CHOOSE LIFE! Do everything in your power to give that baby, your child, everything that you can. I could go on and on - but I won't the message is obvious.

Love,
Latina Renee
